Teach your children our history. Tell them why they, too, can live in a free nation. Encourage them to be patriotic. Teach them to be proud of the US flag and all it represents. Be sure to thank a soldier, enlisted or veteran, when you're out and about today. I pray their sacrifice puts a knot in your throat and brings tears of gratitude to your eyes.

Yes, I am a flag waving patriot. I feel I taught our children that too.
